The concept of “white men of privilege” refers to the hierarchies of power. There is and has been an assumption of social, economic, and political power that rests in the laps of white men of privilege (Harris 83). The author states that it is an assumption that is because there are instances where this can be proven, but it is not an absolute truth. Of course not all white men of privilege hold the power in all contexts and people that do not fit in this category hold power in some respects. I do agree that there is an assumption of power regarding white men of privilege. One example of this is on the currency in which we use, all white men of privilege. As a person opens their eyes you could see examples of people in power that do not fit in this category. I think this idea stems from the past and in time the assumption of only one kind of person being in power will go away.

  1. Hey there Veni Vidi Vici. I want to start off by saying that I really like your alias name on your blog. It is really creative. Great job on your post this week. You did a great job discussing the concept of "white men of privilege." I agree with you that "not all white men of privilege hold the power in all contexts and people that do not fit in this category hold power in some respects." I think that the world is changing and that this assumption that "white men of privilege" dominate the powers of the United States. I think that things are changing and people are receiving different opportunities.
